Juvenile Diabetes and its prevention

Type 1

Gestational diabetes occurs when a pregnant woman has higher levels of glucose, or blood sugar, in the bloodstream than normal.

Regular check-ups- Let’s not just prepare our bodies in the nick of time but train them to build up a good defense mechanism to fight such bugs. This can be only done once you update yourself with your child’s regular health check-ups. You might/might not have a diabetic condition so it is better to go for yearly check-ups.


Cooking with a twist- Many times the main problem stems from unhealthy eating habits. Junk food lures kids only because of its good taste. It’s required of you to balance good taste and nutrition in your child’s diet. Prepare food in special ways so your child doesn’t crave for the colorful packs of chips and dips.

Hygiene- Train your child in a way that he/she gets accustomed to a neat and clean environment. Children should know that blood is danger! Anytime they see a friend or a stranger bleeding they should be wary of it. They should stay clear of sharp objects like needles and pins.


Excess of anything is bad- Overdose of medicines and of food, both are equally harmful. You could cook a variety of food but make sure you don’t stuff your child. Also, aimlessly consuming non-prescribed medicines or antibiotics can harm in a long run. Many antibiotics have a very high level of sugar.


Engage children in meaningful experiences- Children have an inbred likeness to play in the mud, dabble in water, watch TV for long hours and play for as long as the day goes on. The more you give children meaningful experiences, the more will they get to adopt a good lifestyle.
