Handmade Garlands

Are you on a lookout for something creative to embellish your house on Diwali?

We all know how Diwali brings along a lot of excitement and gaiety for the little ones. It is thus the best time to capture their creative knack. This festival season, make handmade garlands with your child that will light-up your house. It might take some time of yours while guiding your child but their happiness after seeing the results will be invaluable. So let’s get started!


Things required

  • Crepe paper

  • Scissor

  • Sewing needle

  • Stapler

  • Wire

  • Pencil


How to make?


Step 1

Take the crepe paper, make small circles from a pencil and cut the circles as shown in the image.


Step 2

Take 6 circles each and staple them from the center as shown.


Step 3

Take each leaf separately and crush them as shown in the picture.

Step 4

Crush all the sets so you have paper flowers ready to use. The marigold flowers are now prepared.


Step 5

Once the flowers are ready, sew the flowers together with the help of a sewing needle and a wire.

Step 6

The Handmade Garlands are ready!



Garland decoration is a great way of pacing up the revelry at home. You can use these garlands to beautify both inner and outer space of your house. Also, give your child the opportunity to decorate the house and place the garlands wherever he/she wishes too. Let him/her exercise the creativity and gear up for the festival.

Make as many flowers as you want, the more the merrier :)
